The promise is that God will give peace to those whose minds are fixed on him. We do this by reading His word and praying. Our minds are fixed on so many things other than God: Financial worry, children, work, sports...I could go on and on. None of those things bring peace. God is the only source of true peace. It's a peace that surpasses all understanding (Philipians 4:7). Jesus is our peace. Think of Him today. Think of what he did for you on the cross. Cast your worries upon him. Spend time in the Word. Pray. He will give you peace.
Dear Lord:
Help me to fix my eyes upon Jesus today. Make my heart burn for you. Set my feet to follow you. Your yoke is easy and your burden is light. Give me the peace that surpasses understanding.
