The verse that precedes this one tells us that Jesus understands our temptations and sympathizes with our weakness because he experienced life on this earth first-hand. There is no need to keep up appearances for Jesus. He knows we are not "fine" or "good" as we often tell anyone who asks. Jesus knows we are anything but fine or good, and He understands why. Go to Jesus with your pain. Go to Him with your sin. Go to Him with your anxiety. Nothing you say will surprise Jesus. He already knows, and He wants you to bring all of your cares to Him. He died for you. He loves you. Lay it all at the feet of Jesus today, and you will receive grace and mercy aplenty.
Dear Lord:
We carry so much on our shoulders that we ought to lay directly at the feet of Jesus. His yoke is easy. His burden is light. Please help me to open my heart to you and give me the grace and mercy I so desperately need.
Amen.
